Probably specific to Windows 7

Hi, i installed the subgit on a windows 2008 server. I create a new subversion repository and install subgit.
when i try to commit a new file on a subversion checkout i got the error
Commit blocked by pre-commit hook (exit code 1) with output: Access Denied.
I`m running VisualSvn as a server

Proposed:
subgit configure --revision 100
subgit configure --minimalRevision 100

subgit configure --core.minimalRevision 100
subgit configure --core.minimalRevision=100

subgit configure --git.default.minimalRevision 100
subgit configure --git.default.minimalRevision=100

So we can support something like this:

1. Global for all locations
subgit configure --core.minimalRevision=100
We can also assume that --minimalRevision == --core.minimalRevision

2. Specific for every location
subgit configure --git.repo1.repository="/path/to/repo1.git" --git.repo1.minimalRevision=100 --git.repo1.repository="/path/to/repo2/" --git.repo2.minimalRevision=200

Now install operation leaves pid file lock.

However, it doesn't take into account "core.shared" property when creating this file, thus file has "rwrr" permissions even when core.shared is set to 'true'. Install should either deleted lock file or leave it with proper permissions.

subgit client script on linux and osx miss #!/bin/bash header

On translation there was the following console output:

Last line is 'git pack' output which should not be displayed (unless there is an error).

When far.jar is built and installed into repository, original subgit.jar manifest is lost, along with the version information.

Currently" uninstall" command complains about the absense of something related to the repository configuration if it is run on non-existing directory.

It should write that repository doesn't exist instead.

Pre-exsiting user hooks should be executed by subgit hooks.

Each "hooks/" directory of Git and SVN should contain files named:

user-<hookname>.tmpl

Each template file should contain the text like SVN hook template or Git hook template does.

There're 4 cases of original state:
1. pre-commit.tmpl only exists
2. pre-commit and pre-commit.tmpl exist
3. pre-commit only exists
4. none of pre-commit or pre-commit.tmpl exists

After running "install" the hooks/ directory should contain pre-commit with subgit's code that runs the hook process that runs daemon. Except it the hooks/ directory should contain for these cases:
1. user-pre-commit.tmpl
2. user-pre-commit and user-pre-commit.tmpl
3. user-pre-commit
4. user-pre-commit.tmpl

Uninstall should try to restore the original state.

When translation crashes, origin of translation should remain open and target should no longer accept pushes (or commits).

The option should support (at least) two values git-to-svn and svn-to-svn that define a condition when the translation is set.
The option is supposed to be used in the tests to check error handling.

Now references remains and it is not possible to rerun Git to Svn translation "from scratch".

Currently the Git users can force newly added files/directories to have some certain translated properties by creation of recursive .gitignore/.gitattributes patterns.

For instance, if the root directory has "bin" .gitignore rule (that is recursive), for every newly created Git directory svn:ignore will be set to "bin".

So SubGit could have an option –autoprops <autoprops_file_in_SVN_format> for SVN->Git translation such that for the first commit .gitattributes and .gitignore are created in the way to fit this <autoprops_file_in_SVN_format>. We could also use this file for not translated properties (like svn:keywords) for Git->SVN translation for newly added files/dirs.

Part of the error report:

SVN_REPOS should be used instead; instructions should advice to run 'install –rebuild', not just 'install'.

So pre-commit hook can not block commit operation.

Now, when no –depth is speicifed, -1 is written as 'minimalRevision' property value; should be either 0, or no property at all.

Should look like this:

subgit configure --depth 100  # translate rHEAD-100:HEAD range
or
subgit configure -r 200       # translate r200:HEAD range

Any changes in Subversion that refers to revisions below minimal revision (via copy-from, mergeinfo or natural history), should be translated as just added.

Steps to reproduce (on Windows):

svnadmin create rl
subgit configure rl
subgit install rl
git clone rl gt

# create gt/file.txt (with a single line: 'file.txt', there is no .gitattributes)
git add file.txt
git commit -m "first file" 
git push --all

# modify gt/file.txt (add second line 'second line', eol is CRLF).
git add file.txt
git commit -m "second"
git push

svn co file:///C:/.../rl wc
# modify wc/trunk/file.txt, insert line in the beginning: 'first line', file has no svn:eol-style st and eols are CRLF
svn commit -m "from svn" (revision 3 is committed).

Check logs in rl/subgit/logs - translation failed with "checksum mismatch error". Note, that there is no stack trace as well.

Repository (all files but binaries) is attached.

Daemon exits when all queues are idle. Right now timeout is not really used, as queue shutdown conditions are tested after each command is executed and queue shuts down immediately.

Tests should be able to wait for queue idle state, not for the daemon shutdown.

Currently "subgit install –clone <git dir> target" translates refs/remotes/origin/* of the specified repository, and translates them to refs/heads/* of the local repository. This is only useful for cloning of already cloned repositories. To clone the remote repository refs/heads/* should be translated to refs/heads/*.

Maybe there should be an option or some intelligent algorithm that would check if there's no refs/remotes/origin/* and use refs/heads/* in this case.

Hook launches SubGitDaemon process, but it can not exit until daemon exits.

Empty lines added to the end of the help text when there are no options for the command:
